No longer on Blackboard

Hello everyone, I hope you are enjoying the WAHPERD conference! However, as of yesterday I am not longer enrolled in any classes on Blackboard. I am HUGELY concerned about this! Dr. Pellett said Mary had the same issue. Everyone is telling me to talk to Jane Chinn, whom I emailed and called 3 times yesterday with no response. I am FREAKING OUT!

I have tried to enroll again through BB in the classes but it won't find the damn classes and I am at a loss. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

...Sad

Hey everyone,

Just a note, I am not going to be able to make the WAHPERD conference this weekend... :-(

I have previous plans to go home that weekend, and I only just realized this. I thought that my plans to go home did NOT coincide with the conference, but apparently they do.

So i won't be seeing you all...I will be with you in spirit!

GRANT STUFF

hey guys, I talked to my old high school basketball coach who is now the Health and Fitness head at OSPI. she passed on a great website for looking up grants. She also gave me some other stuff so check it out.

This is a really cool site for grants in WA State, http://www.ssww.com/grants/?cm_mmc=Affiliate-_-PE%20Software-_-Newsletter-_-Grants%20Preferred%20Position. Type in your email address and scroll to Washington, Health and Physical Education, and choose your school (public, private, higher ed, etc.)

I will pass on anything else I get from her!!! Yeah! We can do this:)

PLEASE GET MY BACK...

I hope that you all will stand behind me on this...I took the liberty of emailing Dr. Mathias to ask if he had any suggestions for us in regards to our stats class. I tried to keep it diplomatic and up beat. I just feel like we are spending way to much time trying to stay on top of that class to make sure we are doing a good job with it and the other class. I hope I don't get reprimanded and then get penalized. I maybe should not have gone to him but I felt like we should say something....

BTW: Have you looked at the grade book? At this time I think there is about 4 of each assignment but it adds up to like 10,000 points possible! I felt some stress when I looked at it.

I'm confused!

Ok, call ME crazy but I feel so confused. I went and printed all the things I turned in, apparently I was ambitious. I turned in summaries for 1, 2, 3 and homework 1 and 2 (which was really ch 4). I went and printed out the homeworks that I haven't done and there was one for ch3 and ch4. (did I miss chapter 2 somewhere). HELP!

Also, I can't open some of the homework links, they are ZIP files or something. Anyone else having that problem?

Thanks everyone.

The REAL DEAL on the Homework

I talked to McGowan today...on the phone voice to voice! Here is the 411:

Shortened version:
By tonight: turn in Chapter 1 reaction and homework. Also Chapter 2 reaction. (if you feel the need to turn in the "Homework 2" you can)

By next Monday:

Everything due through Chapter 4. Chapter 1-4 Reaction and Homework are due finally then!!!

When he put the homework out, he didn't check the new version of the book. Apparently Chapter 4 in our book USED to be chapter 2. So, just make sure the homework title matches the chapter title!!!

...And we ARE supposed to be going through the book chapter-by-chapter, not jumping around.

HOPE THIS HELPS!!

CRAZY!!!

Hey, is anyone else feeling like this is crazy? and by "this" I mean last night's emails?!

Garrett, thanks for telling me to re-check!

Skype Post #2

Hello All. I just wanted to remind you to sign up for Skype. I sent an email as well to your Central account. I know Mary, Sara, Erin, Emily and I have signed up. We have even im and called using web cams...all for FREE!!! The best thing is when you are working on homework you can look to see who else is online and im them with any questions you have about the problems. It is great to get an instant response. The worst part is talking to all of our friends when we should be doing homework.

Help...

I can't figure out how to do that damn Relative Frequency Distribution graph for the golfing...I am using Excel 2007 and can't figure it out.

Reaction paper...to Chap 2

Alright, I am not exactly sure what it is he is looking for, but my reaction to chapter 2 is...ZZZZZzzzzzZZZZZzzzzzz. Does that count?

Seriously though, how are we supposed to react to that chapter, it is all about graphs and crap! Ugh.

Helpful Tips for Stats

Here's a couple new things I learned that I thought I would share....for an easy way to draw a tree diagram of all the stupid tulips there is a free program at this website: http://kera.name/treediag/

Also, if you are using Word to do the homework there is an easier way to write formulas than what I was trying to do. If you go to "Insert", "Object", then choose "Microsoft Equation 3.0" it makes it easy to type in the formulas. I hadn't used that function before so I thought maybe some of you didn't know about it either.

Last thing...if anyone still needs their stats book, I can email the first 4 chapters to you as a PDF document. Have a great weekend!

...did I miss something???

I don't know if I am the only one, but I am pretty sure Chapter 3 wasn't due until NEXT Monday, not the 6th...i guess we shall persevere! Good Gravy.
